Depending on who you ask this time of year is either the best, or the absolute worst. People hustling about, shopping, seeing family, drinking heavily and just generally investing themselves in the holiday fervor. For me the holiday season means one thing only: time to play video games. That makes this – hands down – the best time of the year.
Perhaps if you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag multiplayer, you plan on spending a lot of time playing it over the holiday break. We thought you might enjoy having a multitude of things to do, so we’ve put together a great series of events for players over the next couple of weeks. Start by watching the latest episode of the community news below and then dive into the event schedule.

Under Control Community Event (Xbox One Only)
- Mode: Domination
Individual Goal: Stun a pursuer in a capture zone 10 times
Individual Reward: 1 Patron Picture for each playable character
Participation Goal: Play any Domination mode
Participation Reward: Achieve the title “Master of the Caribbean”
Takeover Community Event (PS4 Only)
- Mode: Wanted
Individual Goal: Perform a kill with the scoring multiplier active 15 times
Individual Reward: The “Pirate Flag” Emblem Symbol
Participation Goal: Complete a session from the event playlist
Participation Reward: Achieve the title “Pirate Legend”
Community Reward: To unlock the new maps for play in other game modes you must reach the community objective. To find out what the community objectives are, log into Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag this weekend and participate in the event!
Double XP (All Platforms)
- Mode: All
During the event players will receive double XP for kills, stuns, wins and losses
12/27-12/29
Miserly Shadows (All Platforms)
- About: During this event, you’ll be able to play your favorite maps at night
Individual Goal: Taunt a stunned player 20 times
Individual Reward: The “French Empire Flag” Emblem Symbol
Participation Goal: Complete a session from the event playlist
Participation Reward: Achieve the title “The Shadow”
Community Reward: Log into your game during the event to check on your community challenge and unlock the night versions of all the maps available
