CALL OF DUTY®:GHOSTS EARLY CLAN REGISTRATION FAQ

Q: What is the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration?

A: The Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration is a process that will allow players to create and/or join a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan prior to the game’s November launch.

Existing Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leaders will have the opportunity to reserve their current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name as their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS*, as well as copy over their existing Call of Duty® Elite Clan Member roster.

Existing Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members (not Clan Leaders) “may” be copied over from their current Call of Duty® Elite Clan to the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan by their Clan Leader. Clan Members will have the option to either stay in the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan with their Clan Leader, leave the Clan and start their own Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, or join a different one.

Additionally, new players, or players that don’t already have a Call of Duty® Elite account, can sign-up for a free Call of Duty® account, and then create their own Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, or join an existing one.

*(NOTE: There may be instances where two separate Call of Duty® Elite Clans – one Clan on Xbox 360, and one Clan on PlayStation®3 – have the same Clan Name. These existing Call of Duty® Elite Clan Names will be reserved as Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Names by their respective Clan Leaders ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASISduring the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration.)

Q: Won’t my current Call of Duty® Elite Clan work with Call of Duty®: Ghosts?

A: No, Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clans are built on a new system, so Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leaders/Members alike must start or join a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan.

Q: Why is there a new Clan system for Call of Duty®: Ghosts?

A: Clans in Call of Duty®: Ghosts will include deeper in-game integration and more features, from in-game Clan Management and Clan–specific playlists to the all-new Call of Duty® Clan Wars game mode available in the new Call of Duty® app. This year also introduces cross-platform Clans, allowing players to create and/or join a single Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan across the following platforms: including Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation®3, PlayStation®4 and Windows PC.

Q: What are the benefits of being in a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan?

A: By being in a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, players can look forward to:
• Participating in Call of Duty® Clan Wars – the new Call of Duty® app game mode that ties directly into Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer, where you and your friends will compete against other Clans to earn bonus multiplayer XP and exclusive items.
• Playing in Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan-Only playlists.
• An entirely new Clan leveling system that offers Clan Members more opportunities to earn Clan XP.
• Clan management functionality, both in-game and in the new Call of Duty® app.
• Notifying Clan Members that you’re heading into a match with the touch of a button via the Call of Duty® app’s Clan Chat and Rally-Up features.

Q: Where do I go to create or join a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan?

A: To create or join a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, go to http://clans.callofduty.com Log in using either your Call of Duty® account or Call of Duty® Elite account username/password. From there, you’ll be prompted to set up your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. New players can sign-up for a free Call of Duty® account by visitinghttps://profile.callofduty.com/cod/register.

Q: Who can reserve a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name?

A: Anyone with a Call of Duty® account or Call of Duty® Elite account will be able to reserve a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration.

However, only Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leaders will be able to reserve their current Call of Duty®: Elite Clan Name as their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration.

Q: What happens if I’m a current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader, and I don’t reserve our Clan Name during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration?

A: If a Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader has not reserved their current Call of Duty® Elite Clan as their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name by the end of the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration period, and no other Clan Leader from a different platform has claimed it, then their Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name will become available for anyone to claim as their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name once the game launches in November.

Q: If I am a new player and don’t have a Call of Duty® account or never signed-up for Call of Duty® Elite, can I still participate in the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration?

A: Yes. Please visit http://clans.callofduty.com. From there, you can sign-up for a free Call of Duty® account. Once you’ve signed-up, you will be directed back to http://clans.callofduty.com, where you can log in with your new Call of Duty® account username/password. Q: When is the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration?

A: The Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. (PDT) Thursday, October 10, 2013 and goes through 11:59 p.m. (PDT) Friday, October 25, 2013. After the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration closes on October 25, 2013, players must wait to register a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan until “Open Registration” begins on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 – timed to Call of Duty®: Ghosts launch on current-gen consoles and Windows PC.

CLAN LEADER-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

Q: What if I’m a current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader, and I go to reserve my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, but somebody has already taken it?

A: Due to the many Call of Duty® Elite Clans that exist across our supported platforms, Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Names will be reserved by Clan Leaders ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration. If your Clan Name has already been taken, you can simply alter your current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name for Call of Duty®: Ghosts, or come up with a completely new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name.

Q: I am a current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader trying to reserve my Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, and I keep getting a message that my Clan Name has been taken. I thought I was the only one allowed to reserve my Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name for Call of Duty®: Ghosts.

A: Only Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leaders will be allowed to reserve their current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name as their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, and these Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Names will be locked-in ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS. If you receive this message, it most likely means that the Clan Leader from another Clan with the same name on a different platform, has already reserved your Clan Name. If your Clan Name has already been taken, you can simply alter your current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name for Call of Duty®: Ghosts, or come up with a completely new one.

Q: If I’m a current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader and have to change my Clan Name for Call of Duty®: Ghosts, will I still be able to bring my old Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members with me?

A: Yes, as the Clan Leader for your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, you will be able to invite/add any of your former Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members to your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member roster via two methods. Clan Leaders can simply Auto-Populate their entire Call of Duty® Elite Clan Member roster to become their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member roster. Alternatively, Clan Leaders can pick and choose which specific Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members they wish to bring over to their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. Clan Leaders will also be able to review requests from new players to join their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, and add/decline them as they see fit.

Q: After reserving a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, can I change it?

A: Once you’ve reserved your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration, you must keep it until “Open Registration” begins on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 – timed to Call of Duty®: Ghosts launch on current-gen consoles and PC. After Open Registration/November 5, 2013 you will be able to change your Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name.

Q: I’m a Clan Leader and I reserved a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name that I no longer want. Can I leave my Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, or can I give it to another Clan Member?

A: Once you’ve reserved your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration, you must keep it until “Open Registration” begins on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 – timed to Call of Duty®: Ghosts launch on current-gen consoles and Windows PC. After Open Registration/November 5, 2013, Clan Leaders will be able to transfer ownership of their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan to a different Clan Member (thus creating a new Clan Leader), and leave their Clan.

Q: As a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Leader, how do I invite and accept other players to join my new Clan?

A: Once Clan Leaders have reserved their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name at http://clans.callofduty.com, they will be directed to a “Clan Management Page” where they’ll find a specialized “Invitation Link.” Clan Leaders can copy/paste this invitation into an email to friends, post it to social media sites, etc.

The “Pending Applications” section on the “Clan Management Page” will allow Clan Leaders to accept or decline invitations from aspiring Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Members.

Please note that we will not be offering direct invitations to Clan Members via the Clan Registration Page during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration. We will, however, have full Clan Management functionality available in the new Call of Duty® app, which launches alongside Call of Duty®: Ghosts for current-gen consoles and Windows PC on November 5, 2013.

Q: My Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Invitation Link was shared with too many people, and now I have too many pending applications to join my new Clan. How do I create a new Invitation Link to limit my pending applications?

A: As the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Leader, if you’ve received too many requests to join your new Clan, go back to http://clans.callofduty.com. Click on “Generate New Invite Link”, and accept the confirmation. This will change the Invitation Link for your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. Please note that the previous Invitation Link will be disabled and you may need to send the new Invitation Link to your friends.

Q: How do I stop other players from applying to my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan?

A: Once you’ve reserved your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, navigate to http://clans.callofduty.com and click the “Edit Clan” button. From there, turn “Accepting Applications” to “Off.”

Q: What is Auto-Population? Will members I enrolled into my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan have the ability to leave?

A: If you are a Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader, you will be able to Auto-Populate all your former Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members to your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. These members will automatically be added to the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member roster, without any further action needed on their part. However, if those Clan Members wish to leave your Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan in order to start their own or join another Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, they will be able to do so by visiting http://clans.callofduty.com.

Q: I’m a Clan Leader trying to Auto-Populate my Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members to my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, but I don’t see some of my former Call of Duty® Elite Clan Members. What happened?

A: There are a couple possibilities:
• Your missing Clan Member(s) may have created their own new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan.
• Your missing Clan Member(s) may have chosen to join another Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan.

In either scenario, Clan Leaders will no longer be able to see these Clan Members in their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member roster.

Q: Will reserving my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name affect my current Call of Duty® Elite Clan?

A: No, your Call of Duty® Elite Clan is completely separate and unique from your Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. Changes to one will not affect the other.

Q: What happens if I am the Clan Leader for two different Call of Duty® Elite Clans?

A: If you are the Clan Leader for two different Call of Duty® Elite Clans (i.e. – one Clan on Xbox 360, and a different Clan on PlayStation®3), you will need to pick which Clan Name you want to use as your Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name. However, with cross-platform Clans, Clan Leaders will be able to invite/add up to 100 members to join their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, regardless of whether they play on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation®3, PlayStation®4 or Windows PC.

Q: I am a Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader, but I want to be a Clan Member (not a Clan Leader) of someone else’s new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. What should I do?

A: If you are a current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader, but do not wish to be the Clan Leader for a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, and instead want to join someone else’s Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, DO NOT reserve your Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name during the Call of Duty® Ghosts Early Clan Registration. Instead, find the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan that you’d like to join, and request the Invitation Link from the Clan Leader.

Q: In Call of Duty® Elite, I am a Clan Leader on one platform, and a Clan Member on another platform. I want to reserve the Clan Name of the Call of Duty® Elite Clan that I’m the Clan Leader of, but I have already been added as a Clan Member to the other Clan. What should I do?

A: Please go to http://clans.callofduty.com, log in, and leave the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan you do not wish to be a Member of. Once you leave, you’ll be able to reserve your Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name as your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name.

CLAN MEMBER-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

Q: As a Call of Duty® Elite Clan Member, what can I do during the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration?

A: Once your Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader has created a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, Clan Members will be able to view their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member roster, as well as have the option to stay in the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan with their Clan Leader, leave the Clan and start their own Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, or join a different one.

Additionally, while only Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leaders can reserve their current Call of Duty® Elite Clan Name as their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, Clan Members will be allowed to email and/or post an “Invitation Link” to their Facebook and Twitter accounts to recruit other players to join their Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan.

Q: How do I invite other players to my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan?

A: To invite other players to join your new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, go to http://clans.callofduty.com. You’ll find a specialized “Invitation Link” that Clan Members can copy/paste into an email to friends, post it to social media sites, etc.

Q: How do I leave my new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan?

A: If you are a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member and wish to leave your Clan, please visithttp://clans.callofduty.com. Click on “Leave Clan” and accept the confirmation. This will allow you to create a new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, or join a different one.

Q: Can I be a Clan Member of more than one Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan on different platforms? For example, can I be in one Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan on Xbox 360, and a different one on PlayStation®3?

A: No, with the introduction of cross-platform Clans, which will allow Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clans to be comprised of players across multiple platforms, Clan Members can only be in one Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan at a time, regardless of platform.

Q: I am a Clan Member of two different Call of Duty® Elite Clans (one on Xbox 360 and one on PlayStation®3), and was Auto-Populated into a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan I do not want to be a part of. What should I do?

A: Please visit http://clans.callofduty.com, and leave the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan you do not wish to be a Clan Member of.

If the Clan Leader of your other Clan has not yet reserved a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, let them know that they have until October 25, 2013, and to Auto-Populate or add you when they reserve the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name.

If the Clan Leader of your other Clan has already reserved the new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Name, but was unable to Auto-Populate or add you because you were a part of the other Clan, request the Invitation Link from the Clan Leader to join the Clan. When the Clan Leader accepts your request, you will be a part of the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan you desire.

Q: I’m currently a Call of Duty® Elite Clan Member, but when I log in to the Call of Duty®: Ghosts Early Clan Registration site, it did not show that I was part of a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. What happened?

A: If you’re currently a Call of Duty® Elite Clan Member, but are not currently attached to a Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, then your Call of Duty® Elite Clan Leader may not have added you to their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan Member roster. Go to http://clans.callofduty.com and send a request to your Clan Leader to join their new Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan. Alternatively, you can start your own Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan, or join a different one.

CLANS AND CALL OF DUTY® CLAN WARS-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

Q: How do I level-up my Call of Duty®: Ghosts Clan?

A: In Call of Duty®: Ghosts, all multiplayer matches played with at least one other Clan Member will earn Clan XP and unlock Clan rewards.

Q: I do not want to use the Call of Duty® app, but I’m worried that players who do will have an unfair advantage in Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer with the in-game Call of Duty® Clan Wars rewards.

A: No, the Call of Duty® app will not provide any unfair gameplay advantage in Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer.

Q: What is Call of Duty® Clan Wars?

A: Call of Duty® Clan Wars is a brand new game mode in the Call of Duty® app that ties directly to Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer.  It offers a deeper Clans experience by enlisting players into a larger conflict where any Clan Member, regardless of skill level, can contribute to the Call of Duty® Clan War simply by participating, and rewards them with cool items, both in the app and in Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer.

Q: How does Call of Duty® Clan Wars work?

A: In Call of Duty® Clan Wars, your Clan is pitted against seven other evenly matched Clans to battle for possession of key locations on the Call of Duty® app’s clan wars map over a period of time.

The locations on the Call of Duty® app’s clan wars map are tied to specific multiplayer modes in Call of Duty®: Ghosts.  For example, when you’re playing in a clan war, the Aqueduct location on the Call of Duty® app’s clan wars map is tied to the Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode in Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer, and your Clan will battle against seven other Clans to secure and hold the Aqueduct location while the other Clans try and take it away from you. Each time your Clan wins a Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer match in TDM, your Clan gets a “Capture Point” for the Aqueduct location. There will be multiple locations on the Call of Duty® app’s clan wars map, tied to other multiplayer game modes in Call of Duty®: Ghosts, and your Clan gets more Capture Points for securing either the Aqueduct or other locations and holding them down over time. The Clan with the most Capture Points at the end of the period wins the clan war.

Clans that participate in Call of Duty® Clan Wars have the opportunity earn cool rewards both in the Call of Duty® app and in-game as well. Rewards are distributed based on how your Clan ranked in the overall clan war. Of the seven Clans that participate in a clan war, the top three ranking Clans will earn rewards, with the winning Clan receiving the most.

Clan Members can review their standings at any point during a clan war using the Call of Duty® app, and strategize their next multiplayer play session – should your Clan hold down the location you’ve already captured, or move on to try and capture other locations for even more points.
